Making a reservation
Complete reservation form with your correct email address and submit or send us an email. We will personally response within 24 hours. Please ensure your email address is correct. If we do not respond within 24 hours, it means we have not received your email.
Generator
If there is a power failure standby generators will be switched on at South Point Villa, Abbey and the Cottage.
Cancellation policy
Provided we can re-let the villa for the period booked by you, your money will be refunded less bank charges.
Insurance
It is a CONDITION of booking that every member of the party is fully covered by travel insurance to include loss and damage to personal effects and medical insurance to include evacuation and repatriation as well as general travel insurance.
By making a booking it will signify that you have done this and we will not remind you off this.
Airport pickup
We will arrange for visitors to be picked up at any time. The driver will hold a card bearing guest’s name/name of villa at passenger arrival terminal.
Colombo International Airport to CMB City - 30 to 45 minutes.
CMB city to South Point Villa/Abbey/Cottage - 3 1/2 hrs approximately.
From Koggala Domestic airport - 10 minutes drive to South Point Villa/ Abbey/Cottage.
Air taxis
Sri Lankan Airlines operates amphibious planes from various destinations throughout Sri Lanka.
These are regular scheduled flights to Koggala - approx: 45 minutes.
Charter Flights can also be arranged.

Local transport
Three wheeler taxi’s (tuk tuks) are freely available.
South Point has an air conditioned coach which can be kept standby for your convenience.
Please reserve coach early.
Activities while in the villas
Staying at South Point Villas is a totally relaxing experience. Very often guests do not wish to leave the villas. They just enjoy the food, beach, sea and pool, our personalized service, the ayurveda massage (arranged on request), yoga and tropical surroundings.
If you wish to venture out to visit heritage sites, wildlife parks, eco-tours, boat rides, fishing trips, diving, etc., we will be able to make arrangements for you to pursue your interests.
Boat rides, trolling trips in the sea and Koggala Lake can be arranged on request.
Meals
South Point Villas are known for our cuisine using fresh vegetables, herbs and local rice. Our chefs excel in fine dining and seafood specialities from the catch of the day cooked to Western and Oriental recipes. Whenever possible, we use fruits and vegetable grown organically at Farm Point.
Special dietary requirements -
Please inform us early when required so that they can be specially prepared.
We can organize celebration dinners for small groups with advance notice.
Our villas are child friendly
We welcome families. The Staff is trained to cater to the needs of children and their parents. We provide a cot with mosquito nets for an infant or a young child, and high chairs. A baby-sitter can be arranged with prior notice. Meals will be prepared according to your child’s needs.
Pool
Our swimming pools are maintained to a high standard.
Electricity
The country uses 230-240 volts, 50 cycles, alternating current. Outlets are three pin and you may require an adaptor to suit your electronic devices.
Water
Hot water is supplied by solar power and electricity. Bottled mineral water is provided to each room and restocked when necessary.
Laundry
Machine or hand washed and ironed. Charges available on request. Dry cleaning facilities not available at the Villas.
Linen
Fresh clean linen provided.
Hair dryer
If you need a hair dryer please inform the housekeeper.
Mosquito repellents
We provide mosquito coils in every room. Every evening mosquito coils are lit in verandas and electric anti-mosquito repellent switched on in the bedrooms.
Security
We have a night watchman.
Tipping
Our staff work very hard to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Should you wish to leave them a gratuity, please write the amount and put it in the box provided.
Service charge and tips received are divided equally among staff members. If you wish a particular staff member to get a specific amount please indicate the amount along with name of the staff member.
Elephant dung paper – www.ecomaximus.com won the 2006 BBC challenge. Elephant Dung products can be purchased from the Heritage Gallery across the road.
Tsunami
The force of the tsunami wave was broken by the reef in front of the villa and we only received the spill over. No one was hurt at South Point Villa. The Villa sheltered the village to a great extent. The water caused damage to furniture but as it did not reached the tops of vanity counters, even the ceramic shampoo bottles remained intact.
That very same day, we, together with our staff, started cleaning up and soon the villa was fully operational.
That very same day we together with our staff started cleaning the villa and by the 1st of March 2005 the villa was back to being operational.
Social activities
It is our policy to help the people of Kathaluwa and those in adjoining villages in every way possible to uplift their lives so that they will benefit by us being a part of their lives. We on our part are grateful for their loyalty.
South Point Villas and its management together with our friends helped all those living along the 17 km coastal stretch of Habaraduwa. We will continue to assist in helping them upgrade their lives.
All projects are documented and photographs available to anyone who wishes to see them.
Our main project now is a community centre to educate villagers, especially children and young adults to be fluent in English and in Skills Development which will help them get better job opportunities.
We are happy to have had the opportunity to help almost 6000 families and sincerely hope we can continue to give them hope, strength and encouragement to carry on with their lives.
The Pre-school can take up to 40 children from 3-5 years of age. The children are mainly from the fishing community. It is a Free School.
The Skills Development Centre has classes in English, IT, singing, dancing and tuition for the Year 5 scholarship examination. If the children pass this Education Ministry held scholarship exam, they get the opportunity to enter leading schools in Colombo and Galle. Our Skills Development Centre is for the children of the area from the age of 8 years and upwards.
Sewing classes for young women and Spoken English classes for school leavers are conducted.
Volunteers are welcome to conduct classes in Spoken English.
